Synopsis

Tough and independent, 17-year-old Abby lets very few people into her inner circle. It’s common knowledge in her Kentucky town that she deals drugs, but not even her closest friends know why. But when a deal goes south and Abby’s suddenly in danger, she finds herself reluctantly forced to lean on daredevil Logan—a boy whose restless spirit matches her own.

Logan has his own reasons for wanting to keep Abby at arms’ length. But he never expected to find in her the one person who might help him face the demons he’s tried so hard to run from.

Together, Abby and Logan will have to make a decision: let their current circumstances weigh them down forever…or fight for the future they both thought was impossible.

My thoughts

Finally, Logan and Abby’s story!! YAAY!! 😀 I’ve been immensely impatient to get my hands on this book ever since I read Crash Into You back before I even wrote reviews! Then last year it was only available for the US, and since this summer it’s finally out to the rest of the world! I’m so happy!! And it was so worth the wait. I love these two!!

So, if you’ve read any of the books in the Pushing The Limits series, which I can only highly recommend doing because they’re freaking awesome 😉 , you already know bits and pieces of these two characters before you start Chasing Impossible. I have to tell you, you have no clue at all and I absolutely love how much depth there is to this story and these two characters. There is so, so much more to them than what I’ve seen of them in the glimpses in other books of this series and I think Katie did an amazing job keeping their secrets so concealed in the other books.

I already loved Abby and Logan before I even started this book but my love and admiration for them has grown to near explosive proportions during Chasing Impossible. Their character development was amazing to watch. The playfulness they both have that matches perfectly was so much fun. It had me laughing too many times to count. Yet the playing was only their way to escape the truth. And pretending only goes so far. Their story had so many ups and downs I lost count and I was anxious to find out how they would handle their next dip. Because there were many. Oh I felt so, so sad for them. The choices Abby had to make to survive, the demons haunting them both, the danger that’s never far behind. They’re both playing on the edge of the earth, slipping towards the edge more and more while they try so hard to find safe ground.

This book was definitely full of suspense. The drug dealing gives the whole book this extra dangerous atmosphere that had me biting my nails on the edge of my seat all the time. Chasing Impossible is a perfect mix of the power of friendship, suspense, love and trust. It’s about having faith in the things you can’t see. It’s about improving yourself for the person you love. It’s about never giving up. It’s about chasing what you always thought was impossible.

I absolutely love Katie McGarry’s books. She’s one of those authors that I don’t even have to read the back of the book to know it’s going to be one hell of a ride. She can make broken characters come to life in a way that has me celebrating for every small thing that they conquer. I fell in love with each and every one of her characters and Abby and Logan are no different. I’m pretty sure I already mentioned it before, but I can only highly recommend this book and honestly the entire series. Each book has its own two amazing characters with a heartbreaking and beautiful story to tell that you really don’t want to miss out on.
